About MandiPrices
MandiPrices is an independent public-information service that makes India's daily agricultural market (mandi) prices easy to search, compare and understand. We take the official Variety-wise Daily Market Prices dataset published by the Government of India on data.gov.in and turn it into fast, mobile-friendly pages for every commodity, state and market.
Why we built this
The government data is authoritative but hard to use: it lives in a raw API and dense tables. A farmer deciding where to sell, a trader checking arbitrage between mandis, a home buyer wondering why onions doubled, or a student researching food inflation all need the same thing — a clear answer to "what is X trading at, where, and which way is it moving." MandiPrices exists to answer that in seconds.
Who we serve
Farmers and farmer-producer organisations comparing realisation across nearby yards; commodity traders and commission agents tracking spreads; agri-businesses, exporters and food processors watching input costs; journalists and researchers studying price trends; and everyday consumers understanding household food prices.
Our editorial standards
We never alter a reported government price. Numbers on price pages are computed directly from the source dataset. Where we add context — seasonality, producing states, why a rate moves — it is clearly written as explanation, not as official data, and is reviewed for accuracy against public agricultural sources. Our methodology is documented openly on our Methodology page.
Independence and funding
MandiPrices is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government body. It is maintained by the MandiPrices team. To keep the service free, some pages may display third-party advertising (see our Privacy Policy); advertising never influences the prices or analysis we show.
